Elizabeth Marsh, LMT, RM, Owner/Director

Swedish Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Reiki, Chakra Balancing
Licensed Massage Therapist
Reiki Master

My intention is to help people improve their quality of life by strengthening awareness of their body, mind, and spirit. After listening to your concerns, I customize each massage to meet your individual needs. Working intuitively, I combine various techniques and modalities to bring about the best possible results.

Background

Liz graduated NCCC with an applied science degree in massage therapy and majored in psychology at Southern Connecticut State University. Currently licensed in the state of New York, her interest in massage therapy grew after spending years training and working in the traditional medical field. She struggled with exposure to all of the chemicals used and her health declined. After being told by many doctors there was nothing left they could do for her, Liz was led into more complimentary and holistic care.

She began exploring alternative therapies and meditation practice. With much improvement in her own symptoms, she developed an even greater passion for helping others and sharing everything learned. Liz is a Reiki Master, certified hypnotist, and ordained interfaith minister, who has been working with alternative therapies since 2000. She looks forward to the day when traditional doctors and alternative practitioners are working side by side to provide the best care possible for everyone.

"I feel deep gratitude for my own healing process and find great satisfaction offering hope and help to others addressing their own health concerns. It can be a challenge to navigate the best path sometimes, and I have found having support and good self-care can make a big difference."

Terry Fluri, LMT

Swedish Massage, Reiki, Craniosacral Therapy, Chakra Balancing, Raindrop Therapy, Myofascial ReleaseMassage Objective: My mission is to listen carefully to you, the client, and customize my massage to address your needs. In addition to focusing on problem areas, I will provide a relaxing, rejuvenating massage that brings you home to your body. So many of us live in our heads these days and are actually unaware of just how much tension and discomfort we are holding. My goal is for you to float home, pain and stress free, at peace with yourself and the world.

Background:

I am a graduate of The Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy (November, 2004). I have been practicing Reiki since 1999 and Chakra Balancing since 2001.

To schedule an appointment, please call Terry Fluri at (518) 371-2225.

Swedish/Relaxation Massage

Massage is among the oldest forms of medicine; depicted in 15,000 year old cave paintings
Boosts your immune system by stimulating lymph flow, the body's natural defense system against foreign invaders such as bacteria, viruses and toxic pathogens. It also increases the production of white blood cells.
Relaxes and softens injured and overused muscles
Increases joint flexibility and can relieve the pain of tendinitis
Releases endorphins – the body's natural painkiller
Reduces Cortisol, the stress hormone that elevates your blood pressure and heart rate and gets you into the “Fight or flight” mode.
Improves range of motion and decreases discomfort for clients with low back pain
Relieves neck tension which contributes to headache pain
Craniosacral Therapy

This treatment is performed on a person fully clothed. Using a light touch; generally no more than the weight of a nickel, the practitioner monitors the rhythm of the craniosacral system to detect potential restrictions and imbalances. The therapist then uses delicate manual techniques to release those problem areas and relieve undue pressure on the brain and spinal cord.

Reiki

Reiki (Pronounced “ray-key”) is a Japanese word meaning universal life energy. It is a nonintrusive method of hands on healing that taps into the energy referred to as “ki” in Japan, “chi” in China and “prana” in India. Reiki is a technique that addresses both chronic and acute conditions, gently and powerfully promoting balance among all the body's systems and the normal regenerative processes of the body and mind. You will lie on a table fully clothed. Little or no pressure will be applied and no oils will be used. I will place my hands on or above your head, shoulders, back, chest, stomach and limbs. Normally a series of hand positions are used, but my hands can be placed over an injury or area of discomfort. The energy will flow through me to you. You will receive the amount of energy you need to bring your mind and body into balance. You may feel a tingling or pulsing sensation, a feeling of warmth and comfort or you may even fall asleep. Results are sometimes subtle; you may feel little during the session, but afterwards, you may enjoy a sense of calm and well being and a deep, restful sleep.

Chakra Balancing

Chakras are energy centers located at several locations in your body, beginning at the base of the spine and moving upward to your head, as well as at all of your joints. Long term blockages in your energy flow (caused by injury, emotional trauma and stress) can contribute to illness and fatigue. Balancing and opening the chakras is a subtle, relaxing therapy that increases your well-being and overall health.

Virginia Touhey, LMT

 • Massage and Bodywork, Myofascial Release, Reflexology
 • Specializing in Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a bodywork technique that addresses the fascia of the body. Fascia is connective tissue. It is not only the connection between muscles, skin, bones and organs but it is also the building blocks. If you address the fascia you will not only be relaxing the muscles but also the surrounding tissues. Space is then created for your vital organs, and clarity is experienced three dimensionally from your head to your toes. We become more aware of our body, where it is stuck and where we need to be released.

It is a very comforting and releasing feeling when ultimately you feel clear on the inside as well as the outside of your body. One feels more mobile and energetic. I have been incorporating MFR work in the beginning of massage sessions and my clients are asking for it more often.

Virginia has over 200 hours training with John Barnes, including interning with him. He considers Virginia an Advanced Therapist. In addition, she has studied Myofascial Release with several other teachers.

When you schedule with Virginia, expect her to do her best to resolve your issues. She is result oriented using Myofascial Release and other advanced techniques.

Myofascial Release is indicated for connective tissue issues such as:
Fibromyalgia and plantar fasciitis
Chronic Conditions like:
Migraines and TMJ
Scar Tissue Release from:
Surgery, Sports Injuries and abdominal scarring

If you are interested in any of these benefits, call 518-573-8064 (Cell Phone)Virginia is a graduate of the Swedish Massage School and is a licensed massage therapist in NY State, specializing in Myofascial Release (MFR). She has been a practicing massage therapist, certified in Reflexology, since 1991.

“I entered the healing arts profession to help others avoid the aches and pains I acquired in the construction trades. The number of medications that one consumes for ailments concerns me. I offer an alternative by stimulating the body's own immune system so it can heal itself.”

Long, flowing strokes. Helps increase circulation. Kneading and milking of the muscles to help release metabolic waste which can cause soreness. Good for general relaxation. Helps soothe sore muscles and release “tension”.

Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy
The use of my feet to work the back, hip and gluteal muscles. Great for people who like deep work without the pointy feeling associated with deep work. Good for working through the muscle layers.

Oncology Massage
Massage for people who have had breast cancer. There are certain contraindications for massage with people who have had lymph node removal associated with breast cancer.

Reflexology
Using the foot as a map of the body, this type of body work can help release toxins that build up in the organs and muscles. Stimulates energy flow to the tissues and organs.

Wendy Wood Ordway CST, OTR/L

 • CranioSacral Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Reiki Master
 •  Craniosacral Therapist/Occupational Therapist
 •  Occupational Therapist, Registered by AOTA, Licensed in NYS

Wendy discovered Craniosacral Therapy in 1997 while working as a pediatric OT. She found that this work was beneficial for her in helping to eliminate a stiff and painful neck problem. Wendy decided to study CST and found that it was useful in improving the health of her family, friends and OT clients. Wendy provided CST to clients at Well on the Way in Ossining, NY and privately in home settings before moving to Saratoga Springs in 2009.

Craniosacral Therapy was developed by cranial osteopaths who became very interested in the fluid body and how it affects the musculoskeletal and central nervous system. Craniosacral Therapy can be beneficial for many health concerns including headaches, neck and back pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, brain injuries, orthopedic issues, learning disabilities, sensory integration limitations, TMJ syndrome, depression, tinnitus, PTSD and any disorders related to the central nervous system.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is especially helpful for infants and children. Sessions can be useful for expectant mom's to facilitate optimal birthing of their babies and self-healing. Newborns can benefit from sessions soon after birth to encourage health and well-being in their new lives outside the womb. Babies with feeding difficulties, colic, reflux, sleeping problems, torticollis and developmental concerns can be helped through this work.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy can be of significant benefit to many people. It is gentle enough to use with both newborns and the elderly but dynamic enough so that it can help issues such as migraines and birth trauma. Biodynamic CST can facilitate the body's return to its earliest memories of being a new life in utero. It is in those early days of development that every system in the body is demonstrating amazing fluidity. A biodynamic session can provide deep relaxation and release of both physical and emotional limitations.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy by Wendy Wood Ordway, article published in the Healing Springs Journal, issue #59, Dec. Jan. 2012 , healingspringsjournal.com

Please contact Wendy for further information regarding receiving CST sessions. Sessions for adults are usually one hour but sessions for children vary due to age and overall needs.
